From The Parlor Welcome to the June issue of the American Dairymen. June is a special month and time of year for the industry. As we celebrate National Dairy Month, we are reminded not only of the essential role that the dairy producers play in feeding our communities and nation, but also of the irresilience, innovation, and dedication to the people behind it. In this issue of American Dairymen, we focus on the consistent progress being made across the dairy industry.

What’s going on in this month’s issue

From advancements in herd health and nutrition to technological advances that will mold the industry for years to come. You’ll find timely articles on “The Power of Genomics” written by Jaclyn Krymowski. She will talk about how to transform your herd for long-term profitability. Heather Smith Thomas tackles the topic of “Tips for Putting Up Good Quality Silage and Haylage. “She will take a practical approach to optimizing your haylage and silage quality this season. Lastly, Jessica Graham discusses the importance of “Udder and Teat Health” and how that will lead to clean, high-quality milk and stronger production. Another exciting announcement we have coming soon is there launch of the American Dairymen Podcast. We will have a new layout and format, as I will host an episode every month with a different co-host each episode. Each month will also feature an active dairy producer or industry professional sharing their current operation and experiences &c hallenges they face daily. I am so excited to get this new format kicked off, so make sure you keep your eyes open and follow American Dairymen on all our social media outlets and our website , www.americandairymen.com, for all upcoming announcements.
